Oil Change, Lube, & Tire Rotation
Regular oil changes are essential to keep your engine clean and properly lubricated, allowing your vehicle to run more efficiently. Advances in engine materials and tighter tolerances, as well as the oil that goes into engines, have increased the recommend intervals to 7,500 miles or more.
Ford, Volkswagen and Porsche, for example, recommend oil changes every 10,000 miles. So does Toyota on several engines, including the Prius’ 1.8-liter four-cylinder and the Camry’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder. BMW says owners can go up to 15,000 miles between oil changes (with synthetic oil).
To be safe you should consult your owner’s manual or maintenance schedule to see how often to change the oil in your vehicle and what type of oil to use.

Importance of clean motor oil
Having Clean motor oil is important to the life of many components. If the oil were left unfiltered for a period of time, it could become saturated with tiny, hard particles that would wear the surfaces in your engine. Dirty oil will also wear the oil pump’s machined components and damage the bearing surfaces in the engine.
How oil filters work
When you car runs, the oil is pumped to the filter, where it enters in and the dirty oil is passed (pushed under pressure) through the filter media capturing any solids and then the clean oil goes back through the central hole, where it re-enters the engine.
